Choo choo.. Train coming through.

A whole week has gone by since the little man’s 2nd birthday. Out of all the presents he was bought it looks like he has his firm favourites.

Honestly, my house is like Aladdin’s cave. There are toys in every single room of our house and quite soon I’m sure we will run out of room for them all. It’s very much the same as gringotts bank in Harry potter and the deathly hallows when everything in the vault multiplies.. Not a day goes by when mummy and daddy don’t damage their toes on these wonderful inventions that bring our boy so much fun and joy.

Jacob loves anything to do with trains and cars. He hasn’t put this down since his auntie gave it to him for his birthday. It’s perfect for travelling with too. There is a small compartment at the back to store the 12 figures that you get with the set along with a plastic playmat designed with railway tracks to play on.

This set is sold for a great price to, especially the amount of play your child will get from it. I’m sure he will have every full Thomas the tank engine set ever sold completed in no time the way his collections are going 🙂

Happy Birthday little man…..

Happy Birthday Little man…..

What a weekend. I’m not going to lie, it’s been non stop and i’m pooped but it was worth every second.
This time two years ago the big man would have been wheeling me down to the special care unit to see our beautiful bundle of Joy. Thursday 10th March 2011 was the happiest day of my life and I dont think anything else will ever come close to me being a Mummy to the most perfect little boy in the world.

Its amazing how fast time goes. Its still surreal that my little angel is now TWO. I only hope that he stays a child for as long as possible and doesn’t want to grow up too quickly. He has grown and developed so much and me and daddy are extremely proud of him.

Jacob’s party went without a hitch, all the little people were having a wonderful time playing at the play group. We had arranged that we would have about and hours play before returning to ours for some party food and cake. I think all in all we stayed for more than two hours as the kiddies were having to much fun. They all looked like they would have a great nights sleep for their mummy and daddy’s when they got home so I would like to think that was a job well done on our part.

The fun didn’t end there for the little man… This morning when he woke up he had lots and lots of presents waiting for him downstairs. (we stayed strong and resisted the urge to let him open them yesterday.) And he got spoilt rotten, It was as if santa had come down the chimney and gave him all his christmas presents early, and he hasnt stopped playing with them all day. His favourites seem to be his Thomas the tank engine set and his Ninky-nonk that his aunties bought him. Most importantly I loved having all the people that mean the most to us joining in to celebrate his special day.

I also got spoilt on this lovely day as it is mother’s day too. My little man showered me with lots of cuddles and he has been as good as gold all day.. here’s hoping his terrible two’s came and went after chritsmas. I recieved a lovely mummy necklace and a lovely card. The big man has also cooked me a lovely meal for the occasion too.

I love my little family. They mean more to me than anything.
I hope all you yummy mummy’s also had a lovely day too.

Party time countdown…

It’s the final countdown… I can’t tell you how I am likely to feel this time tomorrow, stressed, tired maybe or my house looking like it hasn’t been cleaned in a long while.

All this will be worth it just seeing the look on the little mans face tomorrow…. it’s party time….

My house shall be known as Captain Jacob’s voyage tomorrow. Filled with lots of little people running wild and having the time of their lives. All the party bags are done, the buffet is ready to be prepared and the cakes have been made.

I am grateful to all my wonderful family and friends who have all helped plan his birthday party. Without them I most likely would have lost my marbles trying to get everything together. Take a look at these wonderful cakes that my wonderful friend so kindly made…

I’m extremely excited about tomorrow, so much so I may not sleep tonight.. Anyone would think it was me turning two 🙂

Daddy’s a little rule breaker

This afternoon I made a quick phone call home to check my two boys were ok. Jacob decided he would be a little monster for daddy yesterday before I got home so I thought I would check if his little horns had receded 🙂

Just after Christmas it was like Santa had given our little angel horns for Christmas. He was acting so out if character, crying all the time an refusing to go to bed, this was so unlike him. he’s always loved his sleep ever since he was born and he always enjoyed going to bed and he never had any problems falling asleep on his own.

The little man was extremely poorly after birth. He was taken to the special care baby unit and treated with strong antibiotics for meningitis for the next 12 days. Fortunately all his tests came back clear and he wasn’t left with any long term illness or developmental problems.

With this is mind I am extremely over cautious when it comes to his well being and I never hesitate to seek medical advice if it seems there is something wrong. I thought his change of behaviour must be due to an ear infection or getting his final teeth through. This was not the case, the diagnosis was in fact a classic case of the terrible two’s starting early and the doctors thought it was fascinating how he was playing up like a four year old.

So we persisted with the tantrums, telling him no etc, which fortunately seems to disappear after a week… Until now.
The little man has decided to try his luck at seeing how far he can push his daddy and when daddy says no, he then makes daddy laugh. The little man undoubtably understands the word no but seems that he wants to turn this into a game with daddy and by the time mummy arrives home he turns back into a little angel.
It seems Jacob is aware that I mean business where as with daddy he wants it all to be fun. Mummy has always been the one for cuddles where as daddy has always been the one he goes to for a Mess around.

I don’t really mind as long as he is aware when one of us tells him no and he listens as I believe children should be children for as long as possible and they will act up sometimes and see what they can get away with.
He’s been quite well behaved today but that may have something to do with daddy giving him one of his birthday presents early… I think daddy will be going on the naughty step later for this 😉

Daddy’s just a little rule breaker and it looks like little man is set to follow. A right terrible twosome they will make too. They have such a strong bond it melts my heart… Maybe one day I will be invited into there boys club 🙂

Hopefully these temper tantrums last less than last time and he will be all angelic again for his birthday party this weekend.
