Hello Fairy Godmother

Yesterday marked the day of my Godson’s christening.

I woke up extra early just to make sure there were no last-minute things to do, living with two boys you can imagine something would need re-ironing or their shoes would have gone missing in the middle of the night. I was pleasantly surprised when nothing needed doing at all so I took this wonderful opportunity to leave the boys in bed a little bit longer and settled down with a glorious cup of coffee.

At about 9.45am I decided to wake the lazy ones 🙂 I was all ready by this point, minus the rollers in my hair (Looking very Glam might I add lol!!)

The boy’s were ready in no time and before we knew it, lunchtime had arrived and we had to hit the road – after making a pit stop to McDonald’s for the little man to keep him going before the service.

I’m not going to lie, I was a bit worried to how the little man would act in the church. He has never really liked much fuss and sometimes when there are a lot of people around, especially ones he doesn’t know it can be a bit overwhelming for him. He did great though, not a single cry out of him 🙂

My little Godson did brilliantly too, smiling all the way through the service, even when it came to the water. He looked so cute in his little romper suit too, My bestest (his mummy) looked beautiful as always, seriously she doesn’t even look like she has had a baby 7 months ago.

The after party was located at a lovely golf club surrounded by fantastic scenery, and it was perfect for the little ones to run around and play. The little man caught the attention of a few little girls and before the day was out they were trading dummies and mummy’s bracelets.

Parents take note: it mustn’t be done with rings these days!!!

It was lovely catching up with old friends from school, some me and the Big man haven’t seen for years. It’s great how you can just pick up from where you last left off with them.

Most importantly I am extremely proud to have been given the privilege of being Fairy Godmother to such a beautiful little boy.

My little man was having a fantastic time, but it will be a long way off before he is allowed to date any of those lovely little ladies and I am sure their parents feel the same too. We had a lovely time celebrating this very special occasion an I look forward to many many more 🙂

The A-Z of my little family 3/26

C is for Cranky…

Cranky is your cuddley friend,
he is with you all the time
Cranky needs to have a wash,
but you think he smells just fine

Cranky has two brothers,
you like to have all three
You keep them close together,
sometimes hidden between your knees

Cranky is your cuddley friend,
he keeps you snug and warm
Cranky has been with you all the time,
ever since we brought you home.

Cranky is also very cheeky,
apparently just the same as you
If something spills or falls on the floor,
cranky is to blame too

Cranky keeps you happy,
you cuddle him when you’re sad
Cranky is your cuddley friend,
but he still smells pretty bad.

Temper temper.

Our Saturdays normally consist of a glorious lie-in until about 10.30 followed by a lazy day with a few Disney films thrown in along the way.

(And I am most likely to be found in my pyjama’s for the remainder of the day)

However today me and the little man went out on our travels to do my friends and her mummy’s hair. My friends nephew was also going to be there so the little man would have a friend to play with for the day 🙂

I was very kindly picked up just before twelve and Jacob got in some sight seeing along the way in the big taxi. All was going swimmingly when we arrived. The boys were playing nicely with toys and making some lovely pictures. I thought to myself ‘‘oh he’s being such a good boy’

This however was due to change quite quickly. No sooner had I taken a sip of my coffee and whipped out the scissors, my baby turned into the devil. He had clearly made up his mind that he didn’t want to play nice anymore and decided instead the best course of action would be to throw everything (and everyone) out of his way and screamed constantly for over 45 minutes.

Nothing would console him, he refused his juice, biscuits and even yogurt (which is his favourite.) He wouldn’t let anybody go near him at all, even me without kicking up a fuss. I put him in his pram to try and settle him and thought he would go to sleep as he looked shattered!! (he had been up since 7.30am which is not like him. He wasn’t best impressed with this idea and sleeping was the last thing on his mind by the looks of things.

My friends dad took the boys for a walk to see the birds and the ducks. By the time they arrived back the little man had returned back to my lovely bubbly baby 🙂

Hello full on terrible twos!!!

Within this time I managed to finish both haircuts and finish my coffee (BONUS)The little man also had his first ice-lolly and as you can see he loved it 🙂

Three Week Countdown…

I have three whole weeks remaining in order to locate a perfect dress for my Fairy God-motherly duties.

Please someone help me!!

My Weight-loss mission hasn’t gone to plan in the slightest. I still have a long way to go before I am 100% happy with my Post wobble, However I have been informed that a pair of spanx should do the trick nicely. 🙂

Me and the Spanx don’t seem to get on very well. Not that I haven’t tried my best. I mean I bought the lovely all in one thinking that it would at least help me out in the ‘you will look pretty in a dress wearing me’ department. I must have done something to seriously offend my lovely spanx as not only does it refuse to play nice at squeezing me into a lovely shape like its supposed to, they also seem to have taken major offence to my thighs and wont budge without a whole mission of tug of war.

I’m also a little unsure of what style to buy, I am thinking of purchasing a mid-length floaty summer dress, maybe with added detail at the top to draw attention away from my middle section. I aim to dedicate my weekend next week finding my perfect dress.

Once this little problem has been settled I then need to purchase some shoes and a clutch to match my dress, arrange to have my hair re-styled with some fresh highlights added as its (supposed to be) getting warmer, and finally a spray tan. All of this business doesn’t even include getting the big man and little man’s stuff sorted for the day either.

If this isn’t proof that a woman’s work is never complete then I don’t think I will ever know what is.

If anyone has any great ideas or the best places for these kind of dresses please feel free to let me know.

Xx ❤ xX

Oh dear… Naughty mummy!!

When the little man was born he was extremely poorly and had to stay in the special care unit for two weeks on very strong antibiotics due to meningitis. His suction skills weren’t that great either and he found it hard to latch on to the bottle.

After what felt like an eternity of being stuck in bed on the ward following my cesarean, the big man was finally allowed to wheel me down to see the little man. When we arrived at our destination I wasn’t at all suprised to see him sucking away on a dummy, that looked far to big for his tiny little face 🙂

I understand some parents may not be happy with their baby being given a dummy without their permission, I didn’t mind at all. As long as it improved his suction skills he could have his dummy for as long as he wanted.

And that is how it has always been. Ever since the little man met his new best friend they have been inseparable. Now that he’s getting bigger he loves nothing more than to bite his way through his dummies. So much so, he is going through one a week.

Normally we pick some up on our weekly shopping trip. I was an extremely naughty mummy this week and completely forgot to pick some up. The little man was left without his dummy and only his cranky (his soft teddy blanket) for comfort.

Me and the big man didn’t have any idea how the night ahead would plan out and expected a restless night ahead of us. We even dug out his ‘too big for his face (keepsake) dummy but he looked at us as if we were crazy and giving him a toy.

Munmmy and daddy were very impressed with the little man for doing so well and going to bed and sleeping all night without his dummy. I have a strong feeling this may have been a one off though because as soon as he awoke the next morning the baby dummy was in his mouth 🙂

Now that I have learnt my ways, I have stocked up on the dummies once again as just live in hope that he grows out of the attack of the dummy that he has come to love.

Perfect Easter weekends

I hope everyone had a lovely time over the Easter Period. Most Importantly I hope you all celebrated the occasion in style and had lots and lots of chocolate. You will be pleased to hear that I was extremely well behaved and had one, yes one Cadbury’s creme egg and donated my big eggs to the mister. ( A little off my waist won’t be noticed on his as much. )

I have been a bit absent of late due to my 2 boys being poorly sick for the past week. All is well in the camp now thankfully, though I must admit I have been left with a few sniffles.Personally I would prefer me to have the sniffle’s rather than the little one as I hate to see him poorly and unwell, when the big man is Ill I’m sure you can imagine the Drama of it all 🙂

Our Weekend was pretty relaxed, we had a few pajama and Movie days and spent some lovely family time together. With a few coughing and sneezing fits thrown in for good measure. I was planning on ordering a new bed and also picking out our new colour schemes for when we finally get around to re-decorating our bedroom, but as most things that are planned in advance this never actually took place. I am sure I will get around to it this week.

I did however find time in my busy mummy schedule to sit down with a wonderful strong cup of coffee ( or three ) and read Cassandra Clare’s latest shadowhunter novel, Clockwork Princess. If you haven’t read any of her books, if you find the time then please do. They are wonderfully written and really capture you into her world of characters and the stories surrounding them.Clockwork Princess had me laughing so hard at times and uncontrollable crying in other parts, and I have never come across an Epilogue so well written as the one in this book.

If you do go to read them, please don’t start off on the above book as this is the Final installment of The Infernal Devices which is a prequel to the much loved The Mortal Instruments. The First installment of The Mortal Instruments is set to hit theaters Worldwide on 23rd August 2013, so be certain that I will be counting down in the very near future 🙂

I now have a massive book hangover, so it’s off to my to-read section to find my next best read 🙂
