Away with the Fairies.

When the weather is grim I allow my mind to wander off to a different place and imagine what my perfect retreat would be like including lots of sunshine and fun.

My perfect retreat would be a lovely cottage surrounded by green fields where pretty little flowers bloomed. Lots of cute pretty butterfly’s would be flying around the freshly cut lawns. There would be lots of outdoor space for the little man to play, and come with a tree-house fully equipped for action packed days of fun for all of us to enjoy. We would have a beautiful bench in front of the large bay window for mummy and daddy to enjoy our morning coffee whilst the little man runs around.

It would be lovely and cosy on the inside, with a huge log fire for those cold windy nights to keep us nice and warm, where we could toast marshmallows and eat them with melted chocolate. Big cushions and throws would be scattered around for extra comfort to join our carefree ways.

It would be set somewhere that experienced real seasons that lasted the length of time that real seasons should.

Daffodils would appear on time in spring, summer would be long and warm. In my imaginary place the autumn leaves would fall crisply to the ground with conkers hidden underneath for us to find and winter would consist of nothing but snowfall, Christmas films by the log fire with our three little snowmen watching from the outside. Not forgetting making snow angels everyday.

It would be magical, every last moment of it. We laugh and run around without a care in the world. Daddy would spend the day cutting wood for the log fire to store throughout the year. I would make delicious home made meals from scratch all the time and it would be perfect.

Needless to say if I ever experience a windfall this is most likely where you shall find us 🙂

The A-Z of my little family 4/26

D is for Dummy…

Back when you were born
your suction skills weren’t great,
Mummy and daddy were worried
as you only weighed 5lb 8

The nurses whipped you off
all the way to speacial care,
I needed to know what was wrong
and I found waiting so unfair

Finally when I could move
your Daddy wheeled me down,
You lay there sleeping in your cot
with the most cutest perfect frown

You looked so small but perfect
and oh so edibly scrummy,
What made you even cuter
was the size of your first dummy

Because you were so small,
It covered most of your face,
Mummy and daddy have kept it
To remind us of this perfect time and place.

Treat Daddy this Father’s Day..

Dads deserve to be treated too…

Why are men so hard to buy for? Whenever I go shopping for my dad or the big man, whether it be for Christmas, birthdays or Father’s Day, nothing ever seems to jump out at me.

They can be so hard to surprise as well. There are only so many years you can buy socks three times a year. But then again, dads always need socks.

So to hopefully make this Father’s Day easier for you lovely people out there, I have searched and searched to come up with some of what I feel are the best gift ideas out there this year.

A personalised Poster

Why not treat Dad to a personalised poster. You can have up to six lines of words that mean the most to you and your dad – say thanks, share a personal joke. Truly make it personal in a way that only you can.

Size: 297 x 420 mm and fits standard frames.

The poster is supplies without a frame, you can pick these up in the majority or stores and supermarkets at a relatively good price.

Fathers Day lunch

Why not take dad out for a lovely Sunday lunch this Father’s Day.
West bridge house are serving a tradition Sunday lunch including the best local produce for the whole family to enjoy. If your dad is anything like mine he will be grateful to you for giving him the opportunity to hang up his apron for once.

Imagine your dads delight at watching his favourite sports and program’s on a brand new LED TV.

A great benefit of an LCD TV is that they are extremely energy-efficient, saving money on the bills for dad and giving you the credit of protecting the environment.

Gioteck controllers

Does Dad like technology? Does he love gaming and own a PS3?
If so this is the site to be. At Gioteck they sell PS3 controllers like no other. They design their controllers with a combination of comfort and practicality in mind.
They have a wide range of designs too. Why not have a look and see if there’s one that ‘screams’ Dad at you.

Not only do they sell controllers, they also sell steering wheels, battery packs and chargers too.

Playstation 3 500GB Slim in Red

All men love consoles, women too. They are fantastic for bringing the whole family together. Sony have now released the new slimmer and slicker PS3 – in RED.
Even though the console is new, dad can still play all his favourite PS3 games. Not only is it a console but a built-in home entertainment system allowing you to play Blu-ray Discs, music CD’s and also watch TV via the BBC iPlayer and 4OD.

Please note an Internet connection will be required for online gaming and catch up channels.

Personalised Cufflinks

Every Dad needs a set of Cufflinks, whether for a special occasion of a day at the office. Why not make a pair truly special this year by purchasing a pair of personalised Cufflinks.
They also come complete with a stylish Cufflink case to protect them when they are not being used.

They offer free delivery within the UK and also give the option for express and International delivery as well.

He will be able to get behind the wheel of the Italian thoroughbred Ferrari 360, the track inspired Porsche GT3, the stunning Lamborghini Gallardo, and the Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

Please make sure you read the ‘Need to know’ section before you make the purchase to ensure Dad meets all the criteria.

A book of memories

I have always loved making keepsakes. I was ‘the’ friend that always had the disposable camera at weekends. I just love to make memories. As you can imagine I have used Photobox many times.

How about making a ‘This is your life’ for Dad this year? Imagine his face as he looks back through the years and all the memories it will bring back.

Who knows, the Grandchildren may even enjoy looking through this and learning the marvelous stories behind the Photos.

Make Dad Laird of the Manor

What can you buy a Dad who has everything?

A new Title… Why not make Dad the Laird of his Manor this year. Once this title has been purchased Dad can officially change his Title from Mr to Laird. And not only that he will also become the owner of a plot of land too.

The website has a full list of FAQ’s for any further information you may like to know,

I would like to wish all you Daddy’s a wonderful Father’s Day

Back to reality

There really isn’t anything better than having some well needed time off to spend with your nearest and dearest. No matter what job role you have, everyone needs that little bit of ‘me’ time.

Now I don’t have an over strenuous job, but I love nothing more than having some time off so that I can spend some full on quality time with my boys. I always feel so much better in myself when I take that time out to relax and do what I want, when I want.

This week has been no exception and didn’t I book the perfect week? The weather has been beautiful for most of it. We have had days where we have been out for walks all day, feeding the ducks and going to the park and we have also had days where we have stayed in our pyjamas and watched Disney films all day.

I can tell my little man has enjoyed having mummy and daddy all to himself all week. He has been full of smiles, constant laughter and hardly any tantrums at all… and his vocabulary is coming on brilliantly. I wish we could be like this all day everyday but unfortunately reality comes knocking and its back to work we go.

A week goes by far too quickly and soon it will be monday again. Next time I may request a two-week break instead and possibly look at taking the little man away as he is getting older. Most likely back to Haven or centre parcs.

I can’t wait to take him abroad, but as he is still quite young and extremely fair-skinned I worry of how he will feel being in a warmer climate. I think we would be best leaving this until he can fully explain to us how he is feeling.

The week isn’t over yet, we still have soft play to attend to on saturday and a lovely roast dinner out somewhere on  sunday which will make a nice change to the big man cooking. If the weather continues to go downhill we can always have an indoor barbecue.

I hope you are all enjoying your week too.

Summer is here..

What glorious weather we have been having recently. I don’t want to jinx it but we can all agree that it doesn’t last for long.

So seeing as this is my week off from work, and it has landed on such a fabulous week, me and the big man decided to make the most of it.

We had planned to take the little man to the park yesterday but as it was so hot we decided against the idea.
He’s extremely pale like me and his daddy and I’m a bit wary of him being out in the sun.

We decided on our food shop instead and mainly bought picnic sets and some outdoor toys for the little man, now that its nicer outside he loves playing in the back garden, also giving him a healthy dose of fresh air too 🙂

Today however we made the trip to the park. Complete with a perfect picnic made by daddy. It was very yummy 🙂 We brought lots of toys too to play with, from the little mans favourite ball to his bowling set.

Once we plastered him in factor 50 we were on our way. We stopped off to see the ducks by the river before finding a Perfect shady spot to have our picnic.

The little man had other ideas though, he wanted to get straight on the swings. The park was relatively peaceful as all the children were at school and this gave the little man and his cousin free reign of the place.

We finished off with a game of football. Daddy was definitely down with the kids during the game. They absolutely loved it.

Tomorrow we have a date with my bestest and my Godson, I will be getting cuddles all morning.
I shall also be making a visit to my nephew/eldest Godson who will be the big 8 in the morning… It doesn’t feel that long ago i was sat in the audience of Jerry springer whilst my sister was in labour.. Yes I am starting to feel old 🙂

I hope you are all enjoying the weather this week too 🙂

Day out with my boys

What a perfect family day…

I am sure you are all aware of how much I love family days with my two boys and today was no exception.

We started our day quite early, all three of us up, dressed and leaving the house at 10.45am. (the little man still woke earlier than normal even though we had a restless night – finally falling asleep at 4am)

The first stop was to purchase the boys’ outfits for my ‘soon-to-be’ godson’s christening on Sunday. Why are men so quick when it comes to shopping? The first shop we went to, both of them had full outfits for the day!!

Me on the other hand couldn’t find anything that I liked or that fitted right. I must have picked up about 20 different dresses but none seemed to fall properly at all.

Soon it was time to stop for lunch, so we settled down In the glorious sunshine for a bite to eat and to restore our energy levels.

Then it was back into the ‘dress hunt’ again. I was adamant that I would find one. I had no choice really.. I knew what style I was after but the shops must have been having a ‘lets just sell to skinnie-Minnie’s’ week or month!!!

The only shop left that I could think of was one of the oldest shops around in our local shopping centre – where I used to spend my pocket money when I was younger, so I didn’t hold much hope..

(what harm can it do? At least I can say I have looked!!)

And there it was, my perfect dress right in front of my eyes sparkling ever so brightly as if luring me to buy it.
I’m not going to lie, I got a little bit excited and did a pretty little twirl right there in the changing room as soon as i saw how it looked once on.

I told the big man firmly,Forget the price tag, my feet are killing and it’s coming home with me, no questions!!

I couldn’t resist picking out my accessories now that I had ‘THE DRESS’ 🙂

After four hours of waking, searching every shop possible and gasping for a coffee, we headed back home.

We stopped of at the local barbers and the big man and little man were in desperate need of getting there mops chopped!!

All of my little boy’s curls have gone.. His beautiful ginger curls. He looks so much more grown up now and even more like his daddy 🙂

Mummy thinks next time she will be In charge and will keep it a little bit longer on the top 🙂

What a perfect family day..

Evil magic pants!!!

Every woman has their own insecurities after having children, some even way before there bundles of joys’s created kangaroo pouches for them 🙂

Everyone has that one piece of clothing that they love, but it just doesn’t fit how it used to anymore.. (no matter how much we jump around and dangle upside down off the bed.. No? That must be just me then.)

Nowadays we are promised quick fix solutions to this kind of problem… Pain free ones too may I add.

Hello Magic Pants!!!

Can you imagine the joy in my heart when I stumbled across you whilst buying the little man some new bits online (and maybe a few essentials for me too )

I just had to purchase you. I knew you could make my wardrobe complete and make me look so much more sophisticated.

I knew you would make me look like I had the best curves around.. Not some leftover podge that didn’t want to budge.

I had been informed previously that these little beauties can do wonders to your body, I couldn’t wait for you to arrive so I could test you for myself.

I opted for the all-in-one bodice.
Thinking of all the outfits I could start to wear, I got a little giddy with excitement.

Rushing upstairs to try you on, I stumbled at the first hurdle..
How were you supposed to hold me in if you weren’t prepared to go past my thighs without a major struggle?

After a good 5-10 minutes you gave in.. Even though I had slight friction marks, no one could deny it was 1 to me and 0 to you!!

As I continued to hop and shimmy across the bedroom, I slowly but surly managed to wiggle into you. mission complete…

On standing up I realised that I couldn’t breathe properly and felt way to constricted. How tight did you need to be??

As much as I loved seeing my figure all nice and Shapley I needed to get you off me ASAP.. I hadn’t purchase some magic underwear, I had purchased a boa constrictor in disguise.

Calling our for the big man in slow short breaths, he came to my rescue. Or so I thought…

Taking one look at me gasping for air and unable to stand up straight, he broke out into a fit of laughter.

Men can be so cruel at times…

Didn’t he realise that now was not the time for laughing? I would happily laugh later on, but right that second I wanted it off like yesterday!!!

Once his fit of giggles had subsided and he saw I was actually in pain, he came to help me out of new skin.

I loved learning about the Victorian times, but I wouldn’t have been able to cope in those corset and basks!! How on earth did they talk to each other or move?

We couldn’t get it off, we pulled and we tugged, all while my whole body felt like it was on fire. I was sure I was going to bruise 😦

All I wanted was to look a little less wobbly every now and again. I didn’t expect you to give me all this drama.

What did I ever do to you??

So I am guessing the moral of the story is, If you can’t get it past the thighs, leave it there as it most definitely won’t come off without a struggle.

I’m sure there are a lot of people out there, who like me often jump at the chance of a quick fix…

Who has there own magic pants? Did you suffer the same trauma as me or did I just buy a Dodgy pair??
